Job Purpose
Knowledge of coatings production processes.Build and maintain production process knowledge in area of expertise.
Process improvements.
Advise production, maintenance, QC, R&D and planning to realize process improvements.
Drive opportunities for improvement of process safety, process quality and process efficiency and Process STD implementation in the shopfloor.
Provide process related technical service to production
Product relocation and product development.
Support product relocation and product development projects according to scale-up plan
Review safety, quality and production feasibility for new products and select equipment for new products in cooperation with planning and production according to NPI tool.
Reports
Conduct process Failure mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Management of Change (MOC) procedure for new and adjusted recipes and processes and write Production Release Reports.
Maintain Process Order administration in SAP.
Process engineering for investment projects.
Conduct feasibility studies, process technology assessments, and process design for investment projects.
Support new equipment evaluation and installation.
Support Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Working Instruction (WI) design.
Key Accountabilities
Monitors the process performance through metrics such as OEE, RFT, MME, productivity cost, customer complaints and other production related metrics will be assigned.Develops plans to improve the above performance through focused improvement activities (in conjunction with the operations group) along with capital project and other CI/ALPS initiatives.
Interfaces with offsite functions such as R&D, Supply chain, marketing, and central engineering for the industrialization of new products, new raw materials, new packaging, and recipe changes ensuring that changes on site are controlled and managed.
Provides expertise for on-site operations group during process related troubleshooting issues.
For capital projects, executes process studies, contributes to pre-projects, and performs initial project scoping and business case development, handing over to the project group for execution (except minor projects, <500k).
During project execution, plays a major role in commissioning, start-up, and training, and then owning the technology for the site.
Stays informed about, amongst others, relevant technology, company news and current quality and HSE standards, and acts if necessary. Identifies what the pertinent information is to use.
Develops process standardization (where applicable) and contributes to reduce variability on the different site processes.
Experience
University degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Relevant experience in Process / Production unit. Powder / paint technology experience is preferred.
R&D, QC lab background is preferred.
Good level in English speaking and writing.
SAP user is preferred.
Good knowledge to work with Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word, MS project,)
