ROLE SUMMARY


The mission for Cairo Operational Excellence is to “Inspire a best-in-class culture of Continuous Improvement (C.I) that empowers colleagues and enables processes to function efficiently and effectively”.  This position is accountable for helping deliver that mission for the site.


CI Specialists are CI subject matter experts with sufficient sets of training, behaviors and leadership skills in order to be able to lead the CI process and fostering an environment of continuous improvement within the department ecosystems to enable site transformation to world class operating standards.


Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEX) is a key Transformation for Cairo Site. The C.I Specialist role is a new role within operations at the Cairo site. This role is 100% dedicated to continuous improvement (CI) implementation and sustaining within operations.


Reporting to Cairo OPEX lead, the primary role of the C.I Specialist will be leading the continuous improvement structured process within the department ecosystems (e.g. Engineering Ecosystem)


Also, will be key influencer to drive, coach, lead and support IMEX deployment and immersion as well as driving a CI culture in operational areas. It is envisaged that C.I Specialist will come from technical or operational backgrounds.


Key responsibilities for this role include:


Owns and lead the CI Element for specific Ecosystem(s) and across Process Centric Teams (PCTs) from Tier 1, Tier 2 process.

Supports execution of PCT IMEX installation plan within specific Ecosystem(s).

Ensure PCTs execute a structured CI process to identify, prioritize, and eliminate losses to impact the established Tier CI goal.

Understand and effectively communicate Tier 3 CI targets into appropriate Tier 2 and Tier 1 CI targets.

Agreeing and prioritizing CI goals with each Process Centric Teams.

Partnering with the Process Centric Teams to ensure:

Adherence to IMEX operating standards within the Ecosystem(s) elements.

CIs are prioritized using a structured approach to ensure that the priority projects are delivering value.

The right methodology and tools are used to progress CIs (Just Do It, M1-M3, PDCA)

The active CI projects are up to date & progressing in a timely manner.

Updating the CI VM board and coordinating CI project prioritization.

Assures adherence to CI element operating standards from Tier0/1 process and Tier 2.

Support the development and and continuous improvement of role cards (Standard work role cards), and work with PCT to update role cards and/or standard work plans at least annually.

Periodically reviews Structured Gemba scores and actions with the Tier 2 Element Owner, updating the Structured Gemba check sheet questions and schedule to focus on the sources of losses.

Act (as assigned) a responsible person for investigations on the PCT Tier 1 level with the dedicated Ecosystem.

Identify and support the management and execution of process robustness related CI projects to reduce process variation.

Builds PCT Capabilities by providing Education & Guidance, Train and coach the team on problem solving and root cause analysis tools.

Analyze data from data collection systems to help set daily, weekly and monthly prioritization and escalation decisions by the Process-Centric Team Lead and to create the Pareto of losses as a key input to the Tier 1 CI meeting.

Support the Process-Centric Team with the development of Operator Care standards as a result of CI projects and JDIs.

Collaborate with the Process Technologist to best support the Process-Centric Team on the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities and CI process.

The minimum qualifications for this role are: 


As a blend of both technical and operational colleague is needed.

At least 3 years of pharmaceutical experience in Manufacturing, Supply chain, Engineering, Quality, or Operational Excellence.

Qualifications in OPEX tool deployment, (e.g., M1/six sigma YB, six sigma GB, 5S, standard work, visual management) would be an advantage.

Familiarity with menu-driven statistical software (Minitab) is preferred.
