Danone is recruiting a Medical Affairs & Market Access Liaison based in Cairo, Egypt, to support the Egypt, KSA, Lebanon & Jordan teams with the Adults & Specialized Pediatrics portfolios within our Specialized Nutrition business.

In the pursuit of being a well-integrated, credible Medical Affairs Function that influences business strategy maximizes business opportunity, and optimizes the value proposition of Specialized Nutrition, this role's main challenges would be:

To drive and implement the Medical Affairs strategy within the CBU.
To provide substance (evidence/data) that stands up to external scrutiny justifying the use of the SN portfolio.
To support the implementation of the CBU's Market Access strategy and key activities with the aim to expand end-user access to the SN portfolio by providing convincing clinical evidence.

Objectives of the role:

Acquire the required medical and product knowledge in different therapeutic areas, to act as the scientific expertise, and to achieve the medical education goal of the CBU.
Drive excellence in execution by empowering the organization with evidence-based knowledge through training and educational events.
Build a strong network of KOLs, Healthcare Professional support as well as other relevant stakeholder support for the relevant SN portfolio. This may involve educating HCPs, arranging and conducting scientific meetings, lectures, workshops, or symposia, and presenting fair and balanced related disease area background, therapeutic options, and medical-clinical data, as well as product-related evidence.
Support the strategic direction of the SN portfolio in all channels for countries within the Middle East Cluster/Region relevant to the scope of the portfolio.
Support the generation of local/regional clinical evidence on the SN portfolio.
Ensure compliance of company engagement, SN portfolio, and activities in-line with the legislation & regulations.
Manage the response to all medical and products related inquiries and requests from the internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders with fair, balanced & referenced scientific/medical evidence/data.
Support the relationships with reimbursement and funding authorities and related stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for TAs and product categories or business services related to end-users.
Along with direct line manager, collaborate with internal and external access and health economic stakeholders and build a network of key decision-makers and other funding stakeholders such as NGOs, Government bodies, KOLs, HCPs, medical societies, and lobby to expand the access for end-users to the SN portfolio or products and/or services.

Targeted Profile:

1 to 3 years in the Medical Affairs/Scientific Affairs function in a pharmaceutical or medical nutrition company (1st preference) OR in pharmaceutical/medical nutrition sales (2nd preference).
Educational background in Nutrition/Dietetics (1st preference) or in pharmacy or equivalent (as 2nd preference).
Based in Cairo, Egypt.
Willing to travel within & outside Egypt (60 to 70% of the time in the field).
Fluent in English & Arabic.
