Safety Specialist At KNAUF EGYPT
Location:Suez, Egypt plant
Knauf Egypt; one of the leading companies in Gypsum boards and all affiliated components of Drywall Systems in Egypt is hiring a “Safety Specialist” based in its Suez Plant.
Key Facts & Profile:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Industrial Education.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE Including safety in construction, general industrial, food safety, environment, and firefighting and fire alarm systems.
Computer Skills (MS Office).
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Training and Presentation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (Basic or Advanced) with an approved certificate.
Candidate must have:
Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety Guidelines.
Extensive attention to detail and ability to distinguish safety hazards.
Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures.
Good understanding of data analysis and risk assessment.
Good organizational, leadership, and motivational skills.
Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement.
Ability to prioritize tasks especially when handling an accident or incident.
Firefighting, rescue, and First Aid skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitor the performance of Safety Officers and coordinate between members of the safety team including nurses.
Conducting Environmental measurements in the workspace, submitting their reports, following up on all environmental aspects, especially managing the transportation and handling of waste materials of all kinds, and their safe disposal in accordance with the Egyptian Environmental Law.
Inspect construction sites and company properties to ensure compliance and promote prevention.
Conduct safety/environmental incident investigations and complete associated infraction reports.
Evaluate health and safety practices and procedures for risk assessment and following legal guidelines.
Conduct Accident Prevention Training and Health and Safety Training.
Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions.
Monitor employees’ conformity to safety laws and policies.
Investigate accidents and incidents to find the cause and take preventive measures for any future incidents.
Handle Employee compensation claims in the event of a workplace accident.
Keeping the persons, materials, and property from various risks in the Plant.
Handing over PPE to workers.
Physical Health and Psychological Fitness Requirements:
- The candidate must not be over 30 years old.
- The candidate must be at least 170 cm.
- The candidate should be no more than 80 Kg.
- The candidate must be a Non-Smoker.
- The candidate must be free of any Chronic Diseases (High Blood Pressure/Diabetes etc.).
- The candidate must be free from all types of Phobias (High places/ Closed Spaces / Dark Spaces / Narrow places / Sight of blood in case of accident etc.).
