Executive Officer to the Vice Dean of Student & Societal Affairs

October University for Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA) was established under Presidential Decree No. 244 in 1996 to introduce state-of-the-art technologies and concepts in all disciplines. MSA is proud that its different programmes were fully accredited before the graduation of its first class in Spring 2000. MSA Faculty of Biotechnology offers state-of-the-art programme covering a wide spectrum of biotechnological sciences applications in health, agriculture, industry, pharmaceuticals and environment, in fulfillment of the rules and regulations of the Supreme Council for Egyptian Universities. MSA Faculty of Biotechnology offers up-to-date courses that cover a wide spectrum of biotechnological sciences, within the framework of the rules and regulations of the ESCU as well as of our British partner.

The Executive officer to the Vice Dean of Student and Societal Affairs (VDSSA) coordinates operations, communications, and supports the operations for the Vice Dean. They will handle matters of significant importance, including researching, addressing student issues, and must be able to handle confidential information with discretion. This position will actively participate in Inclusive Excellence efforts to create a welcoming and accountable climate for all employees and students.

This position provides operational and administrative support to the Vice Dean of Student and Societal Affairs and by coordinating operations and serving as a first point of contact. The executive officer to the VDSSA performs administrative support functions including, but not limited to, complex calendar management, coordinating meetings and other events, recording minutes, managing communications, and managing projects (project management certification is a plus). This position also researches and synthesizes information for the VDSSA which may include performing basic analyses and producing reports.

The Executive officer to the VDSSA also develops and coordinates communication plans across the faculty platform. Assesses the effectiveness of communications and finds opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Experience working under senior-level management. (Preferred)**
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form as appropriate for the needs of the audience (Both in English & Arabic).
Experience working with databases, student information systems, or other relationship management systems (customer, client, case management, etc.) (Preferred)**

Physical & Cognitive Demands

The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.

May require the ability to work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Occasionally moves, positions, and transports standard office supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 lbs.
This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must by able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required.
Advertised Salary Range

Salary for this position is 2000-5000 EGP, commensurated with education and experience. This is a full-time position.
