Job description

Established in 2011, Hydro Industries has built an enviable reputation within their industry.

They are now looking to recruit a Laboratory Analyst to join a highly driven team. This is a fantastic opportunity for laboratory analysts to join at the very start of a global expansion.

The role is initially an four week contract but this is likely to be extended. The role will be based in Hurghada, Egypt.

Hydro Industries is a high-tech company specialising in the design, manufacture and operation of electro-based water-treatment products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Perform analytical testing on produced water samples for multiple parameters, including, but not limited to COD, pH, metals and dissolved oxygen;

· Ensure that all work carried out complies with departmental procedures;

· Ensure that all personal lead times are complied with, subject to the absence of attenuating circumstances;

· Review data for accuracy;

· Report any out of specification results and assist with any investigational work required;

· Work efficiently and accurately to tight schedules, ensuring that client deliverables are met;

· Schedule own workload;

· Troubleshoot laboratory issues;

· Ensure that COSHH and risk assessments are completed and understood;

· Comply with health and safety procedures;

· Undertake such tasks or ad hoc projects as and when required to meet department and business needs and within the scope of the job-holder’s capabilities and responsibilities.

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

· A-levels or equivalent in Chemistry or relevant scientific discipline;

· Good level of working experience in analytical chemistry;

· Must be confident in working in a laboratory;

· Understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures;

· Results driven with excellent attention to detail;

· Ability to use analytical skills to evaluate trends to solve challenging problems;

· Confident in using Microsoft Package Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);

· Excellent communication and organisational skills;

· Fluent in English;

· Ability to work in Hurghada, Egypt for a minimum period of 4 weeks.

Desirable:

· Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or relevant scientific discipline;

· Experience working in waste-water treatment including produced water, sewage and industrial effluent;

· Experience in utilising Hach spectrophotometers, pH meters, fluoride meters, conductivity meters, dissolved oxygen meters and other analytical equipment;

· Ability to speak and understand Arabic.
