ROLE TITLE: Corporate Lawyer
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
MANAGES: Legal Assistant or Paralegal
LOCATION: Cairo or Dubai
ROLE SCOPE
The Corporate Lawyer handles all of Diwan’s legal transactions and ensures that all partnerships, projects, deals, and business practices comply with the applicable laws and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Represent Diwan in all legal proceedings and contract negotiations.
Act as Diwan’s legal focal point, advising the CEO and all departments on legal matters.
Review, amend, approve, and file all contracts and agreements signed by Diwan’s different departments.
Lead the timely renewal and negotiations of contracts and agreements.
Draft contracts, agreements, and legal documents as directed.
Review organizational practices on a periodical basis and protect the company against legal risks.
Advise management on new projects, business lines, and the creation of subsidiaries and joint ventures.
Liaise with external counsel and legal accountants on legal and taxation matters.
Oversee all corporate governance affairs and support the Board of Directors whenever needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Law. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Over 3 years of proven experience as a lawyer, with a preference for in-house legal experience.
Experience with corporates in Egypt. Previous experience with UAE laws is a plus.
Proficiency in the use of Excel/Numbers and Powerpoint/ Keynote.
