🔴Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to manage with direct responsibility for the operation, preventive maintenance and repair of a full range, in size, type and pressure, of water, steam or hot water boilers and auxiliary heating system equipment, and the mechanical equipment outside of the power plant. This can include, but is not limited to, steam lines, mechanical equipment rooms, pumps, air compressors, plumbing systems, pneumatic and electronic computerized control systems, fired and unfired pressure vessels and water treatment systems, such as Purified water systems and water for injection.


🔴Key Responsibilities:

🌟Provide engineering recommendations and technical support on utilities reviews, strategic plans, and projects.

🌟Manage with direct responsibility for the operation, preventive maintenance and repair of a full range, in size, type and pressure, of water, steam or hot water boilers and auxiliary heating system equipment, and the mechanical equipment outside of the power plant in Giza site to ensure they are operated and maintained in a safe manner in addition to GMP compliant manner

🌟Prepare and maintain the section’s budget, tracking all expenses as they occur.

Responsible for the continues improvement plan of water management to support GSK commitment to the Environment and improve site P&L

🌟Oversee the team of utilities technicians, scheduling them for work, assigning tasks and reviewing their performance, ensure all quality and safety issues are reported and escalated appropriately, in addition to keep detailed records of all pending and completed work orders, maintaining these files in an organizationally implemented record-keeping system.

🌟Ensure that the utilities workplaces, equipment and process under his control and responsibility are safe and without risk to health of any user (Staff, Technician and Contractors)

🌟Improve the long-term financial effectiveness of utility stations, reducing the risk to product quality, and ensuring better Health, Safety and Environmental performance

🌟Ensure that corrective and preventive actions concluded from related GES Gap analysis are completed according to set timeline plan

🌟Ensure all engineering changes are assessed, documented and approved in advance

🌟Manage the close-out of any CAPAs or other actions arising from Audits

🔴Knowledge/ Education / Previous Experience Required:

✓University Bachelor’s degree in Engineering - Mechanical or Electric or equivalent

✓Minimum 3 years – to – Maximum 6 years of Working experience as utilities engineer in Pharmaceutical factory

✓Strong Electromechanical background is an advantage

✓Ability to work independently and as part of a team

✓Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

✓Actively seek to improve processes, controls and expand effectiveness and efficiency

✓Self-motivated with Good prioritization and organization skills

✓Excellent Computer skills

✓Excellent command of English – both written and spoken
