Site Microbiologist At Mars Egypt (0-2 years of Experience)
Job Purpose
The Site Microbiologist role is critical to ensure all Finished Products produced in OCT are micro analyzed and timely-released with trustworthy results.
The job holder verifies the micro & chemical tests conducted in the External Labs for raw
materials,in-proces materials, equipment, machines parts and manufacturing environmental surrounding as
per Micro Verification Standards & inbound testing protocols.
The job-holder supports the site in monitoring the micro trend, improving the micro KPIs and awareness in dealing with micro issues.
Roles& Responsibilities
-Supervise micro sampling and samples handling in oct to ensure samples are taken at the right quantity, at the time and frequency; and dispatched to the External Micro Lab in good conditions with the right labels.
-Ensure implementation of Inbound testing
plan, make sure of sampling & testing of RM is compliant with sampling plan.
- Follow up with external chemical labs the analysis & results communication.
-Verify the External Micro Lab equipment,
resources, analysis procedures and working
environment are consistently compliant to the required standards.
-Verify the micro lab results, monitor the trend,analyze and report any micro deviation and non-compliance with product specifications.
-Timely release of all micro & chemical tested products and materials through Hold &Release module in ATLAS Q&FS.
-Participate to the External Micro Lab with
Regional Microbiologist/Food Safety Manage,identify the gap and opportunities to improve and follow up with the external lab to close the audit finding actions.
-Support the External Micro Lab to
maintain Good Laboratory practices.
-Manage the budget of R&D testing as per
the operating plan and work on continuous
improvement plan to reduce R&D testing cost through optimization in the testing plan and efficient execution.
-Support the site in the investigation and
trouble-shooting of micro-related incidents and non-conformances and verify the
effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions for the micro issues.
-Support the site in creating awareness of microhazards and to improve GMP/GHP.
-Contribute to the risk assessment & investigation activities related to micro issues, e.g. in Risk Assessment, Packaging Risk Assessment,Change Management, Exceptional Release,Derogation/Waiver, & consumer complaints.
-Compliance to Micro Verification and IVT
standards as owner for the site.
-Participate actively as HACCP team member for both value streams.
-Owner of the Environmental & Hygiene module utilization of the system and manage the database and reporting through the system.
-Own the Micro Score Card for OCT and report periodically with the right level of details.
-Collaborate with other unit labs, local and overseas

Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Microbiology/Food Science/Pharmaceutical or Veterinary Medicine.
Experience:
-0-2 years of experience in Food Manufacturing facility, where scientific principles have been practically applied...
-Technical depth and detailed knowledge of Food Microbiology, HACCP Food Safety Micro lab analysis standard and Hygiene is a must
